AFRAM Caucus to Hold Anniversary Celebration

July 11th, 2008 will mark the one-year anniversary of AFRAM existence within SEIU Local 517M. The SEIU 517M AFRAM State Caucus will be sponsoring a reception to celebrate this historic date. This celebration will take place July 21, 2008 at 8:30 p.m. at the Sheraton Hotel in Lansing. The National President of the AFRAM Caucus, President Marchel Smiley from SEIU Local 722 in Washington, D.C. will be here to address the delegation.

You are invited to be a part of this celebration. The SEIU 517M AFRAM Caucus has arranged overnight hotel accommodations for you. We have reserved rooms at the special rate of $65 for king or double rooms. You must call Cindy Wilson in the Lansing SEIU Local 517M office at 1-866-517-7348 by June 26th at 5:00 p.m. to guarantee a room. When you call Cindy make sure you let her know that you are with the AFRAM Caucus.

We are in the process of ordering AFRAM t-shirts. We are planning on wearing them at the reception. If you have not already done so, you can contact Sister Glenda Simon at 989-777-5830 to place an order. Prices range from $12 - $16 depending on size. Long or short sleeve t-shirts are available.
